News is out folks, Nokia is back from the dead with an Android Tablet called the “N1”. This tablet is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop and features the Nokia Z Launcher for Android devices.
For all those ardent fans of Nokia who were enthralled by Nokia’s tweet last night about the black box, this is a true surprise.
Nokia, which used to be a mobile giant has quite a few all-time-best-selling mobile phones under its hood. Since the company was always Symbian based, after Android and iOS hit the market, the shares of Symbian got negatively affectively. At the same time, this big blow didn’t stir the sales much and the company continued to make profit in all four quarters of 2011. However, observing the market trend and with Symbian followers fading out, the company sold its mobile front to Microsoft in 2013, for a whooping price of $7.2 billion.
Interestingly! The Nokia N1 looks like the best iPad mini clone ever made. Nokia’s N1 has the same 7.9-inch screen size and even the same 2048 x 1536 resolution. Nokia has even opted for a single piece of anodized aluminum design. As for specifications, Nokia’s N1 includes a 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, also an 8-megapixel camera at the rear and a 5-megapixel version at the front (perhaps for better selfies).
It’s exciting to see Nokia trying to get on its feet, and making a comeback with a big bang! Considering the specs, it seems as if Nokia wants to make it big in the hardware front and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Nokia is after Apple. However, the only winning point about this device is the price as it is supposed to go on sale at $249 (compare that to $399 for iPad mini 3 and $299 for iPad mini 2)
With this sixer, it doesn’t look as if Nokia is planning to leave the ground anytime soon!
